- Click the 'Edit'.
- You should now see the page properties form in the content editing window.

General
Pages in Typo3 come in a range of different types. The type of page allows you to assign it with special behavior. You can either set the page type when you are adding a new page (by choosing the page type in the ‘Type’ drop-down menu) or alter the type of an existing page by clicking on the dropdown menu.
Link to another page
The shortcut page type allows you to redirect visitors from one page of the website to another (i.e. an internal link). When setting up a shortcut page you will need to configure which page the visitors are redirected to. This can be achieved by following these steps:
- In the page header editing form, once you have selected ‘Link to another page’ as the page type, you should see a field called ‘Shortcut to page’.
- Click the 'Browse for records' button to the right of the ‘Shortcut to page’ field in order to open the site tree window.
- In the site tree you can choose which page visitors will be redirected to by clicking its title.
- A shortcut page can only redirect to one page so if there are more than one pages in the ‘Shortcut to page’ list remove all the unneeded ones by clicking their titles then the ‘Remove selected item’ button.
- All you need to do now is click the ‘Save’ or ‘Save and close’ button in the toolbar.
Link to external URL
The external URL page type allows you to redirect visitors from a page of your website to an external website. When setting up an external URL page you will need to configure which external website the visitors are redirected to. This can be achieved by following these steps:
- In the page header editing form, once you have selected ‘External URL’ as the page type, you should see a field called ‘URL’.
- Enter the address of the external website in the ‘URL’ field (without the ‘http://’).
- All you need to do now is click the ‘Save’ or ‘Save and close’ button in the toolbar.
Usually you’ll be using a Normal Page. The Title is the name of the page in the menu structure (and therefore URL), the Page Title can be entered if you want a different title to appear on the page. The Abstract is what shows in a menu- view on front end.
Option
If you want to hide the page in your main menu, disable Page enabled in menus. This slightly differs from disabled, as you can still access the page using URL.
'Hide Page Title' is the same as disable and 'Hide Breadcrumb' (hides the breadcrumb menu). Finally 'Hide Comments' doesn’t apply.

Permissions
This toggle checkbox allows you to hide/unhide the page from the front end of your website.
Advanced
You can do various actions on this tab. You can change your page structure from one to two-column pages. Please bear in mind that your designer would have created specific page structures depending on the wireframe.
Page Banner
You can add a page banner image. Choose or upload an image to be shown in the banner. In Filelist, it is best to have a folder named banners, where you can store all the website's banner options. Please name them appropriately, because when you go to select a banner you will now have the option of viewing it before selecting it.
If you are creating your own banner image, please see here for our image guidelines.
You may find that you have the option of selecting a banner theme. If no image is selected, then a banner theme will be selected. The theme affects both the background and text colours to ensure the heading remains accessible - the colour will be inherited by child & grand-child pages unless a different colour is selected in the page properties of that page.
Within the search section, you can decide whether the page should be included in the internal website search results and external website search (e.g. Google).
Categorisation
You can tag your pages with a category. Therefore, if you have filters in a search bar, it will show specific pages.
