Hide/unhide a page

Typo3 allows you to hide pages from the front end of the website. This means that although a hidden page will be visible in the BackOffice, visitors on the front end of the website will not be able to see it in the menus or access it by entering its address in their web browser.

You can identify hidden pages by looking at their page icons in the site tree. Hidden pages have a 'greyed out' icon and when they are disabled they have a small red icon in the bottom left-hand corner.

You can hide/unhide a page by following these steps:

  1. In the site tree click the icon to the left of the page you wish to hide/unhide to open the context menu.
  2. Click the 'Hide' or 'Unhide' link from the context menu.

It is worth pointing out that if you hide a page that contains a number of sub-pages, those sub-pages will still be accessible if the user enters their address directly into their web browser. In order to prevent this, you must also hide all of the sub-pages.
